About the Choir
the The Metropolitan United Church Choir School (MUCCS) was founded in 2014 with the stated purpose to provide professional musical training to thirty choristers drawn from the London, Ontario area. The program is unique in Canada for being the only children's choir to provide a thoroughly professional musical experience to choristers without cost. The Choristers of MUCCS receive individual voice lessons each week from September through June. In addition, they also study music theory, music history, ear training and liturgical and church history. While our intention is to create an ensemble of the highest professional caliber, choristers also enjoy a lot of fun, developing friendships and teamwork along the way.
Membership in the Choir School is limited at any given time to thirty choristers grades 3 and up. The Choristers meet on Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:15, Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30 and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30. Choristers are expected to attend at least two rehearsal per week.
