Musical Education at Metropolitan United Church Choir School
t Metropolitan we believe that choristers sing with greater understanding and with greater success when they have a complete musical education. With this in mind, at MUCCS we work to develop our choristers' minds, as well as their voices.
The Choir School is affiliated to The Royal School of Church Music in the UK and we use their excellent training scheme, 'Voices for Life'. Choristers' progress, much like Boy Scouts or Girl Guides, through a series of levels by studying workbooks designed to teach and reinforce the musical skills necessary to become successful. As each level is passed, the choristers' receive brass medallions, which are hung from coloured ribbons, which signify their individual level of achievement. These are worn with their choir robes whenever the Choristers sing for service or concert and are a source of great personal pride.
