Pauline Hansford Scholarship
The Pauline Hansford Scholarship, created in 2019, is valued at $1000 and will be awarded to graduating Choristers who are planning to study music full-time in university. It is named in honour of Pauline Hansford, who sang in the Metropolitan Senior Choir for over 60 years. In her time in the choir, she was at various times Music Librarian, Choir President and Music Committee Chair. She was also a founder and president of the Metropolitan Alumni Musicians’ Association. Since the creation of the Metropolitan United Church Choir School in 2015, Pauline has been one of its strongest supporters. This award is a fitting tribute to Pauline’s long history of service to the music program of Metropolitan United Church. Choristers who receive this award must have demonstrated similarly high levels of dedication and commitment to the church, and plan to study music at a post-secondary level.
