Junior Shipman Organ Scholar - Renee Nikkel, CRCCO

Renee Nikkel is currently the Junior Shipman Organ Scholar at Metropolitan, where her responsibilities include accompanying in the first service and helping to train the Choristers of our Choir School. She is an undergraduate in music at the Don Wright Faculy of Music of The University of Western Ontario, where she studies organ and improvisation with Gregg Redner. Renee also studies choral conducting with A Young Kim.
Renee was the first person to take up the Choir School Organ Scholar position at Metropolitan United Church. Her duties included service playing and training of the Junior Choristers. During the Choristers' trip to England in 2018, Renee played for services at Chester and Bristol Cathedrals. She has also received prizes for her participation in the Kiwanis Music Festival Organ Classes in both 2018 & 2019.
Renee is a member of the London Centre of The Royal Canadian College of Organists.
